Solar Community Success Story
Situation:
This young couple are long-time friends of the Snell and Walter families with deep ties to the Poway softball community. We were excited to help their growing family go green in 2015! With two energetic boys and a third on the way, they decided they wanted to take control of their energy bills by installing solar. Their goal was to save money for their growing home and install a solar system to produce enough for a pool they planned to build in the near future.
Solution:
With only a small average bill and budget at the time, we calculated conservatively a 3.84 kW system to take care of their near future needs. Knowing that there was plenty of space to add on and the tax credit still around in the coming years, adding panels if necessary was always an option later on.
Savings:
This family has had four solid years of use out of their system and are now moving out of state for a new job opportunity! Their solar system will add enormous value to their home’s resale price, especially because they own it, out-right. The transition of ownership will be smooth and won’t scare homebuyers away like leases or PPA’s might. Once the new homeowners are settled in, Sungenia will continue to take care of the system’s warranties and monitoring, and they can sit back and enjoy the electric savings!
