Historic Sunnyside Farms Goes Solar!
The local Sunnyside Farms has a wonderful site history. In 1894, Ulysses S. Grant Jr. (the President’s son) built a house in Sweetwater (now known as the Sweetwater Valley or Bonita region). Grant Jr. also built stables and a caretaker’s home, where he kept his horses on the grounds. The Grant family were avid equestrians and had many horses and owned a few stables throughout the United States.
Sunnyside Farms is still going strong and continues to provide San Diego County with quality horse boarding services. Watch this video clip to learn about the newest owners who had Sungenia help give Sunnyside Farms a solar update! Solar panels were mounted on its stable’s corrugated metal roofs and ended up using one hundred 425W panels for 42.5 kW total. The solar panel roof mount was installed over an area of 2,277 square feet using the IronRidge or S-5 Mount and racking system. This great solar investment for Sunnyside Farms has been estimated by our Sungenia financial analysis to receive cashflow payback or to break even in two years and to save over one million dollars ($1,125,482) on utility bills over the next 25 years (as noted in our solar electric system agreement financial analysis).
Sungenia has experience in all types of construction to get the job done right and custom solar installs are our specialty!
